CWB National Leasing earns ELFA’s Operations and Technology Excellence Award

WINNIPEG, July 11, 2018 – Equipment Leasing and Finance Association (ELFA) named CWB National Leasing the 2018 recipient of its Operations and Technology Excellence Award for developing and implementing a custom-built core system.

Just two years after receiving the same award for developing National Leasing Interactive, an online equipment financing tool, CWB National Leasing’s team of innovators is in the tech spotlight again.  

“We knew building our own, completely customized core financing system from scratch would be a significant feat – something other companies wouldn’t consider attempting,” says Arthur Anhalt, Vice President, IT, CWB National Leasing. “But thanks to the creative minds and innovation-focused culture at CWB National Leasing, we were able to deliver a state-of-the-art new system that will truly benefit our customers and employees into the future.”

The project, internally coined as FELIX, kicked off over five years ago with the mission to build something tailored to the company’s specific needs, streamlining internal systems and all aspects of the financing process. The new system replaced a number of legacy systems with one integrated final product; designed to be scalable with new software development processes that increase the ability to react quickly to market changes and take on future growth, while serving customers with increased speed, accuracy and efficiency. CWB National Leasing launched the third and final phase of this multi-year project in February 2018.

The Operations and Technology Excellence Award identifies and recognizes equipment leasing and finance companies demonstrating best practices in developing and implementing innovative technology or creative business processes to improve operations and enhance customer interactions. In addition to receiving ELFA’s Operations and Technology Excellence Award in 2016 and 2018, CWB National Leasing received the award in 2003 for its securitization software.
